Back in January, I posted an article about the poorly researched and written “expose’ ” in Popular Mechanics online, authored by an embarrassed Mike Allen - who was/is the “expert” auto editor.

His poorly researched slam of the HHO industry caused me to write him and challenge him to a dual of sorts- one where i take all the risk- provide the HHO generator, the installation, even fly out at my own expense. If it worked- his only requirement would be to write a follow up article about HHO, correcting his false accusations. If it didn’t work, well, then i would apologize and he gets the credit for the article, and no one loses but me.

Well, here we are in April, I thought I would take a quick jaunt over and maybe stir up a few feathers…guess what I found?

NOTHING. They have now removed ALL comments to this shard of an article, leaving the article intact, but NO COMMENTS. Not only that, they have now made it mandatory to receive a password/user name before posting any comments…hmmmmm something stinks here.

Well, no matter which team you were rooting for, the Superbowl this year was phenomenal! After a rocky first half, the Saints came back to bury the Colts in a fantastic victory.

Now, many of you may be asking - what in the world does this have to do with the subject of HHO Generators? My Answer?

Everything!

Let me explain….

Many were saying that the Colts were going to sweep it, though many wanted to see the under dogs (New Orleans Saints) take it, since this was their first official time to the Superbowl. The Saints were looked at as unseasoned, not ready for prime time, possibly unable to handle the pressure of one of the most watched events on TV.

Now let’s look at the HHO industry…

Several years ago there were only a few lonely YouTubes and some older forums talking about using Hydrogen gas separated from water to help increase mileage in vehicles. Suddenly gas climbed like a rocket and pain at the pump made people furious at the Oil Companies as well as the Auto Manufacturers.

Suddenly out of nowhere this small seemingly insignificant player was all over the internet and over 40,000 youtube videos popped up in one year.

Successes starting popping up everywhere, but due to the newness of the technology, many had problems as well, and lacking a determination to pursue an answer, they began to throw up their hands and scream “SCAM!”

Other people began hearing about this underground movement called HHO Gas, and as they searched, many began seeing as many blogs claiming scam, as they did people claiming a success. Soon the Naysayers were screaming from the mountain tops about how impossible this new technology was and all the math starting popping up proving beyond a shadow of doubt that HHO Generators could not work.

And yet quietly, in the background, hard working, persevering men and women continued improving, building, testing, and proving that the right design, the right application, the right installation could work. The “flawed technology”, the impossible formula breaker, The underdog HHO technology, was playing big time. With successes popping up almost everyday, the scammer screamers were getting less vocal in the evidence of others.

Flash forward to today.

Like the Saints in the first half of the Superbowl today, HHO has had a rocky first half…

But get ready- because the second half is going to rock your socks off!

Here is my recent challenge to the horribly researched and errantly written article by Mike Allen, Popular Mechanics Senior Automotive Editor…

He wrote an article essentially claiming HHO generators were a scam, they didn’t work and he would prove it by installing one.  Then he installed the absolute worse design he could possibly find…here is a picture of it:

What an absolute piece of garbage. No wonder he didn’t get any results!

At the end of the article he admits that he didn’t do anything to adjust the O2 sensors or help the car deal with the HHO gas, but apparently that didn’t matter. Not that the piece of junk he installed would have put out enough gas to light a cigarette let alone trip the computer…

I made this challenge about a year ago- and I’m going to make it again. This poorly researched article used worst design possible and did a bad installation.I’ve seen Mike Allens’ comments about fuel saving devices. SO put your money where your mouth is Mike. I will fly out to your shop or wherever you did the installation for this so-called article; I will install one of our newest Hybrid Cell Hydrogen Generators on a car we both agree on that you can provide (some cars do better than others with HHO); I will INSTALL it the right way (I’ll teach you how it’s done); and I will be there for the testing and mileage phase ( I will be their to audit tests only - make sure there is no funny stuff going on, you can provide your own independent tester; If I win and the car gets an increase in mileage due to our HHO kit, then you owe me a lengthy article and write up on my company and our kits and a rebuttal to your errant article here. If you win you get to report that and redeem your name that has been somewhat sullied by your article here on Popular Mechanics. SO basically - you have NO RISK in money or time, if you truly believe this articles results. I, on the other hand risk the cost of my plane ticket, hotels, cost of my HHO Generator kit and my reputation, which has been hard won in this industry. By the way, if I win and you do a good article on HHO technology in general, I will let you keep the gas saving awesome Hybrid Cell I install. I challenge anyone else to match that deal. HHO fuel isn’t exactly running our cars on water but it is as close as we can get right now. Hydrogen is a great fuel enhancer in that it increases the fuel efficiency and power of gas combustion and Diesel engines and in these tough economic times that can be a real life saver.

With gas prices rising seemingly every day it would be hard to find anyone who wasn’t looking to get more for their dollar at the pump. On Demand Hydrogen Generators can be the solution and HHO gas enhancement is the way to go.

HHO fuel is not a substitute for gasoline but and enhancer. Water is converted into gas and then introduced into the induction system of a fuel injected gas powered engine. It is like having air on steroids. The increased oxygen and hydrogen content of the fuel allows the engine to burn the gas more efficiently using less gas to power your motor.

The air fuel mixture in a combustion engine is what keeps your engine running smoothly and efficiently. It decreases the amount of harmful emissions and help keep the air clean. Arguing against HHO gas would be tough as it really is an amazing advancement in the motor vehicle world.
Probably one of the best things about HHO fuel is it is easy and cheap to produce. All you need is an easy to install kit which can be all set up in your vehicle in just one day. It doesn’t matter what size your gas engine is from 1.4L to 5.7L there is an HHO gas kit for your motor. You can start saving fuel and protecting the environment right away. It’s cheap too. The only thing you will sacrifice with hydrogen gas use is the trips to the gas station!

If your vehicle is 10-15 years old or newer, chances are you have a fuel injection system for the gas. The O2 sensors regulate how much fuel is added to the engine by measuring the amount of O2 (oxygen) in the exhaust system. If you add an HHO kit or even just the simplest of hho generators to a car that has O2 sensors, and you DON’T use an EFIE, most likely your mileage will go down instead of up.

When purchasing an HHO gas saving kit for your vehicle you want to make sure it has an EFIE (Electronic Fuel Injection Enhancer) with it otherwise you could end up getting worse gas mileage than you had without an HHO conversion system.

Even though there are relatively few components need in an HHO system this is one you want to make sure you have and that it is right for the system. You may need a dual EFIE system depending on your car, if it has 2 O2 sensors and even a QUAD EFIE system if your car has 4 sensors. It is all about getting the right air/fuel mixture to make your engine as efficient as it can be.

Having the correct EFIE (Electronic Fuel Injection Enhancer) means never having to worry about your HHO system producing the right gas. You can be assured the quality of HHO gas you get from a conversion system utilizing an EFIE will always contain the perfect mix.

With gas fuel injection systems the key is the ratio between how much gas and how much air is used. HHO stands for 2 hydrogen + 1 oxygen the chemical designation used for water makeup. The way it works is the gas is extracted from the water producing an oxygen enriched mixture that burns more effectively when introduced in the induction system.

Combustion engines rely on that correct mixture to run smoothly and with an EFIE (Electronic Fuel Injection Enhancer) you can ensure that your engine gets the most out of gas. Typically, an HHO system can increase your gas mileage by 15-40% and can increase the power as well. This means great savings in gas and a more powerful engine. More and more people are going the HHO route and enjoying all the conversions have to offer. The EFIE is an integral part of the system and when one is not used you risk voiding all those great benefits.

This is a comment I posted in BusinessWeek.com as a response to their article on Invention vs. Innovation:

Innovation is taking inventions and streamlining them into the market place. Inventions are new developments and products/processes entirely. I think we have become very innovative centric, but industries that have been successful on past inventions do not pursue those radically different from their own original ones.
Take the auto industry- if the US auto makers were “INVENTIVE” instead of continually refining their innovations, they would not be needing billions of dollars in bail out money.

Case in point: There are far more fuel efficient engines that have been invented recently, yet the big three don’t want invention - they just want to innovate the same old tired Otto cycle engine from a hundred years ago. Stir the soup, add some new ingredients, but don’t replace it with a better, more nutritious food.
Their closed loop computer systems make it difficult for hybrid fuels such as hydrogen generators to affect the mileage of the engines like they could if the industry was open to breakthroughs.
Inventors have responded with new inventions and the HHO industry continues to break wide open, even though it is fought with disinformation and lies from industries that don’t WANT invention, they only want to add little innovations. But the market wants better ideas, better more radical inventions- it is no longer content with the slow moving, Bermuda short wearing, “good Ole Boys” philosophy.
Our mindsets MUST change if we are to transition into a better, more energy efficient society.

As we continue to develop new and better HHO kits, generators and parts, others are busy inventing more fuel efficient engines that save gas by redesigning the engine from the ground up. Hugo Touro’s comapny, Tour Engine, Inc, is doing just that.

He has been developing what he calls the “Split Cycle” engine which is quite brilliant in its simplicity. Below are some photos from his prototype:

As you can see, he is using one side of the engine to draw fuel/air in and compress it (easier to compress cold air), then pushing that mix into the adjoing cylinder where it is immediately combusted and exhausted.

Pretty cool idea. He is currently looking for the next phase of funding…

My goal is to be able to combine the incredible energy of hydrogen in the form of HHO gas with the more fuel efficient engine designs to create a fuel efficient, gas saving power source that will help us transition from present technologies into the future…stay tuned as we progress forward.

Here is a recent article from hybridcars.com about the New Nissan Altima hybrid (The Altima Hybrid is essentially a Toyota hybrid wrapped in Nissan’s attractive packaging) which is priced at $25,000, about $4000 MORE than a regular Altima.

You see- this is my argument, and continues to be what I will preach on. People will spend $4000 to get a 15% increase in their mileage, but don’t realize that they can spend only $800 and get the at LEAST the same, but generally far better than that using an HHO kit!

Our typical users save 20%-40% but far more are getting that40-50% range (those that use our best selling kit - $797 Platinum Turbo series HHO generator )

SO for 1/5 of the cost of an electric hybrid, you can get BETTER results and you can use your own car - I challenge any of the manufacturers to beat that with their hybrids!

I’ll put a water hybrid conversion up against an electric hybrid conversion any day…
