HHO Generators and Distilled Water

There are some that will argue that you’re using precious water to run your car (never mind that you’re cleaning the environment!). Well, for the purists out there, or for those of you on a tight budget, here is a collection of ways to distill your own water so you don’t have to buy it from the store.

This is a very basic method to make distilled water, but with a few spare parts you can throw one together.

Breakthrough Ethanol Production

An interesting article on new methods of Ethanol production by a new company using a one-step process for converting cellulose into ethanol producing high concentrations of the fuel.

This week Qteros, a startup in Marlborough, MA, announced a major milestone. The company, which was founded after its founder discovered an organism that devours woody biomass and other cellulosic materials and excretes ethanol, has shown that the bacteria it uses can produce high concentrations of ethanol. The company says this makes its process for converting cellulosic plant materials into ethanol “more economical than any other process to date.”

Increasing the concentration of ethanol lowers the cost of ethanol production in many ways. As the bacteria break down plant matter, they produce a beer-like broth containing ethanol and water. The lower the concentration of ethanol in the water, the more expensive it becomes to distill pure ethanol (more water is needed for the process, and the processing plant needs to be bigger and more expensive).Read More here…

HHO fuel isn’t exactly running our cars on water but it is as close as we can get right now. Hydrogen is a great fuel enhancer in that it increases the fuel efficiency and power of gas combustion and Diesel engines and in these tough economic times that can be a real life saver.

Hydrogen Fuel Cells- DOA?

Here’s a recent article on the efficacy of hydrogen fuel cells. Where are they, what has become of them, etc.

Interesting analysis, but many of these authors do not know of or have not investigated the HHO generator phenomenon and therefore are still skeptical that there is any hope in hydrogen as an alternative fuel.

Once again, as I have pointed out constantly, any other alternative fuel source for our society is going to need an INFRASTRUCTURE. Whether it’s hydrogen gas, hydrogen fuel cells, methanol, ethanol, or even electric.

But HHO kits do NOT need the infrastructure - it’s already in place - it’s your cars’ charging system.

For about the last decade I have been reading about hydrogen fuel cell cars as if they were just around the corner. General Motors fatefully decided to pursue hydrogen fuel cell cars rather than developing hybrid or battery technology. In 2003 G.W. Bush announced a 1.2 billion dollar initiative to develop the technology. In California Governor Schwarzenegger decided to build a hydrogen infrastructure in anticipation of the coming fuel cell car.

To be clear, I am not down on the hydrogen fuel cell. It is a nice technology with many advantages. The technology itself is about 150 years old - combine hydrogen and oxygen and you get energy + water. Water is a better byproduct than carbon dioxide. Hydrogen is a reasonably energy dense material. Save Gas – Go Hydrogen With HHO Kit

gaugesThere are lots of ways people try to save gas and the truth is not many of them work, some are downright dangerous, and most are just scams.

For instance, there are driving habit changes like  those people who coast through stop signs in order to save fuel, or try and coast their way all over the place by hitching rides close behind diesel rigs.

Then there are all those fuel additives you see at the gas stations or even on the internet (Ask yourself, do those gas station owners really want you to decrease your gas consumption)?  They probably don’t.In fact, most additives sold end up costing more than the gas they are supposed to replace.

So, what is someone to do if they want to save gas without buying a new car or going with public transportation, or even start riding a bike to work (no thanks!)?

My suggestion? Go with on demand hydrogen generators. Converting to an HHO system is a great way to save gas. HHO will also help to boost your engine’s power, a great add on benefit to saving gas most would agree.

Hydrogen gas is not a replacement for your regular gas but an enhancer. The way it works is a hydrogen system placed in your vehicle produces hho gas from water, injecting pure hydrogen at the same time enriching the oxygen content that gets introduced in your fuel/air induction system. Once in the system the gasoline or diesel fuel is more efficiently burned through combustion.

This is where the gas efficiency and power comes from. The fuel to air ratio is more perfectly mixed and combusted because of the hho gas to optimize engine output.

You can save gas with any engine from 1.4L to 5.7L with a hydrogen conversion system. Even larger with a dual generator system. The increases you can expect in gas mileage average in range from 15-40% and power increases have been measured at between 5-10%. That is a quite the increase for any size engine.

EFIE (Electronic Fuel Injection Enhancer) for Ultimate Fuel Mileage Gains

If your vehicle is 10-15 years old or newer, chances are you have a fuel injection system for the gas. The O2 sensors regulate how much fuel is added to the engine by measuring the amount of O2 (oxygen) in the exhaust system. If you add an HHO kit or even just the simplest of hho generators to a car that has O2 sensors, and you DON’T use an EFIE, most likely your mileage will go down instead of up.

Even though there are relatively few components need in an HHO system this is one you want to make sure you have and that it is right for the system. You may need a dual EFIE system depending on your car, if it has 2 O2 sensors and even a QUAD EFIE system if your car has 4 sensors. It is all about getting the right air/fuel mixture to make your engine as efficient as it can be.

PWM (Pulse Width Modulator) - Current is Key to HHO Gas

One of the main and most important components to a good HHO gas conversion system is the PWM (Pulse Width Modulator). This little electronic circuit board resides in the EC electronic control box and monitors the electrical pulses flowing throughout the HHO system and regulates the flow so that the best possible hydrogen gas is produced by the on demand hydrogen generator.

pwm-50-ampWithout a PWM, you are running a straight Brute Force HHO kit, which is what the original kits were. Brute force works fine, but doesn’t have the precise control of a unit managed by a pulse width modulator.

This is a picture of our heaviest duty 50 amp PWM board with 2 controls- one for current and one for frequency.

Brute force HHO kits manage current strictly by the amount of electrolyte in the water, while PWM controlled HHO kits manage current by adjusting the controls on the PWM circuit board.

This is one of the most important gadgets in your HHO system. It keeps the gas water ratio correct to make your engine run smoothly and efficiently by pulsing the current rapidly on and off. This prevents overheating of the HHO generator and keeps things at a manageable temperature.

The PWM (Pulse Width Modulator) is an important part of the brains of your HHO kit. The whole reason to convert to hydrogen as a fuel enhancer is to get the optimum performance out of you 1.4L to 5.7L gas engine.

Making sure that the process is humming along correctly and making adjustments as needed is the job of the PMW. Working together with the other components your HHO system strives to inject just the right mixture into your induction system to combust effectively.

The size of your PWM makes a difference as a higher amperage PWM allows you to run higher current through the system thus producing more HHO gas production.

The PWM (Pulse Width Modulator) play an integral part in producing the kind of gas mileage and power increase you are looking for.
